Services from the Troy Senior Computer Learning Center
The mission of the Troy Senior Computer Learning Center is to "aid people 50 years or older who use or want to explore computer technology, to increase their knowledge or share it with others and to further their computer skills".
In recognition of that mission, Troy CLiC is proud to provide not only our excellent classes but also the following helpful services:
Drop-In Computer Lab
The Computer Lab (our classroom) is open for general use on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (Mon and Wed from 9:30 am to Noon; Fri from 9:30 am to Noon and 1 to 3 pm). (Subject to Monitor availability). Internet access is available. There is no fee for using the Computer Lab, but we do ask that you refrain from bringing any food or beverage into the room.
Private Computer Consultations
Set up an appointment with one of our knowledgeable Instructors to discuss any computer problem you are having. This can include issues with computer hardware, operating system, software, e-mail, internet or related peripheral devices like scanners, printers, etc. Consultations are currently scheduled the fourth Wednesday of every month, with 45 minute appointments available at 9:30 am, 10:15 am and 11:00 am. Call (248) 524-3484 by the Monday before the fourth Wednesday of the month to schedule your consultation. The fee is $7 payable at the Troy Community Center Desk or over the phone Mastercard and Visa accepted). Please call to cancel if you cannot keep your appointmant.
Hard Disk Drive Erasure
Getting ready to buy a new computer? Giving your old computer to a friend or donating it to a charity or just turning it in to a recycling center? Don't let your old computer hard drive get into the wrong hands. Erase all your old information and personal data permanently and securely.
This free service is offered on the third Wednesday of every month between 10 am and Noon in the Computer Lab. Just bring your entire computer or remove the hard drive and bring it in.

Home Computer Assistance
This program assists seniors (age 60+), physically challenged individuals, and military families who are Troy residents with in-home help with their Windows PC running any Microsoft Windows Operating System.
The work is done by our volunteers and usually involves jobs that take an hour or two. Labor is free but you must pay for supplies. Tipping is not allowed.
